Problem

The following example's of error message can appear, when the CODESYS Development System is started:

This error indicates, that one or more needed .opt files are corrupted.
These opt files are imported when CODESYS is opened, and are related to saved user, project or other settings within the CODESYS Development System.

Solution

1. First attempt:
   • Try to simply Restart the CODESYS Development System.
     Per default, CODESYS will now replace the faulty data and started with the default settings.
     
     
2. Second attempt (also, if this is mentioned in the message):
   • directly delete the following files:

     • C:\ProgramData\CODESYS*.opt

     • C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\CODESYS\CODESYS.opt

   • Restart the CODESYS Development System. CODESYS will now be started with the default settings.
